Some of my favorite web sites and online resources, including online galleries, free software, and resources for artists and small businesses.
Enjoy!

Artist Resources
Eugene Artists
Art Supplies
Starting with the local sources (local to Eugene and Lane County), then the online sources -- buy local first, damnit! (Or at least don't admit it when you can't pass up the 70% off and free shipping from Cheapo Arts in Timbuktu...)
Oregon Art Supply
In downtown Eugene.

M.E.C.C.A.
Materials Exchange Center for Community Arts. Also in Eugene. More than just recycled art supplies and glittery bits, M.E.C.C.A. offers classes, open studio time, and all sorts of other stuff.

Selling Online
Small Businesses and artists can sell online without spending more than they make. These are some of my favorite, inexpensive solutions.
PayPal
Love them, hate them, maybe both at once, PayPal is still the best turnkey payment solution, unless you make a lot of sales and can justify the monthly expense of a merchant account and payment gateway.

Ecwid
Weird name, super nice shopping cart. Very easy to integrate in an existing site, and it's free for up to 100 products.

Etsy
Etsy charges very low fees for listing items, it's a great place for artists and craftspeople to sell their work.

Free Software
These are wonderful programs that are mostly built and maintained by individuals and communities of volunteer programmers, or scaled down versions of commercial programs. If you use any of this software, consider making a donation to the groups that work on them, or buying the paid versions.
Coffee Cup Free HTML Editor
This is the free version of their commercial editor. Pretty full featured editor with some time savers for frequent HTML coders.

Notepad++
If you do any kind of programming, this is one of the best code editors I've ever found. Has syntax highlighting in a bazillion languages, code collapse, function lists, sophisticated search and replace, custom macros, etc., etc., all for free (make a donation if you can!).

OpenOffice
An open source clone of Microsoft Office, and can open and save files in standard Office formats (.doc, etc). A nice alternative if you just need to open the occasional Word document.

Photo Filtre
A versatile photo editing program. Easy to use and offers some nice batch processing options.

Scribus
An open source desktop publishing program.

Serif Free Programs
Serif produces inexpensive alternatives to the big graphics editing suites. This page offers free versions of some of their programs, not as robust as the paid versions, but great if you just need to do the basics. PagePlus is especially worth looking at, since there are very few free desktop publishing programs out there (though check out Scribus, above).

Online Marketing
MailChimp
MailChimp is the best Email marketing service that I've found, and they offer a free account for use with up to 500 subscribers.
